IT Diploma resources:
Managing projects just got a lot easier with mWorld.

Lewisham IT Diploma Students 2009Creative Minds website

mWorld has developed unique project management resources and reporting templates tailored to give young people undertaking the new IT diplomas a better understanding of the concepts, phases and procedures to be able to manage their own projects successfully from initiation to closure.

Some of these resources and materials have been successfully trailed by students from the Level 2 Lewisham IT Diploma consortium as part of their Unit 7 Managing Projects workshop delivered by mWorld as part of their Press Association Training Multimedia project. If this sounds like it would be useful to you, or if you have any other related project management resource requirements email us.

Media Experience Day with mWorld at the Press Association:

Creative Minds website

October 2009 saw Level 1 Media Diploma students from City and Islington experience what it is like to work in the media inside the offices of one of the UK's biggest news operations. At the Press Association in London, SW1 they met the people who write the stories and using Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop software they learnt what goes in to making a celebrity magazine cover.

This is one of a series of projects mWorld delivers in partnership with the Press Association. Click here for more information about our programmes mapped to other diplomas.

Work experience success:

Newham College Students 2009Creative Minds website

mWorld has uniquely developed a website for the Level 1 students on the Diploma in Creative and Media course at Newham College. The website called Creative Minds showcases their 2008/9 academic year. During a 10–week work experience project at the Press Association, students were able to document their experiences, reflect on their personal development, present the products they produced and acknowledge the new skills they had gained.

Parent and Kid's GuideLittle Ilford School Students October 2008

October 2008 saw the effective collaboration between mWorld in partnership with the Press Association to launch one of our new Specialised Diploma work related experience programmes. The Level 2 Creative and Media Diploma students were aged 14 to 15 and from six different schools. They took part in a challenging nine–week project to complete a leaflet looking at the London 2012 Olympics and the regeneration of Stratford.
The project is seen as a shining example in shaping and implementing the diploma and gave students a rewarding work–based experience blending general education with a more applied academic programme of study. It is currently being featured on Teachers TV under Just for Governors – Diplomas.
